This is a brilliant commentary on Advertising by Leo Laport and also Jay Shafer of Tumbleweed Tiny Houses on big houses and the advantages of small houses.

 

This quote from Edward Bernays really brings home the fact of how long we have been played.

"If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, is it not possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without their knowing about it? The recent practice of propaganda has proved that it is possible, at least up to a certain point and within certain limits."

He called this scientific technique of opinion-molding the 'engineering of consent'.

I don't know about you but I'm really tired of it! In fact I have taken to emailing companies to comment on their advertising. To compliment them when they are using their "Authentic Voices" to communicate with me the consumer.
